ASBESTOS & DEMOLITION TRAINING SERVICES IN SCOTLAND
Circa was established December 2005, to partner NDTG (Scotland) and Construction Skills in the following:-
| • | To provide the premises and services for the running of all Asbestos courses as required by the introduction of the Chapter 4 Regulations (November 2006). To date, this service is now well established and all audit procedures are in place at the centre. |
| • | A need was identified by the Demolition Industry that centres throughout the UK would be the way forward in qualifying the workforce in Demolition, Plant and Asbestos disciplines. |
| • | Circa is now such an approved centre with its links and affiliations to NFDC, NDTG, Construction Skills, Scottish Enterprise and UKATA. |
| • | Circa also provide National Vocational Qualifications for the Demolition industry, the benchmark in improving the standards of the industry. |
Our Mr Caldwell Snr has had a lifetime of experience in this Industry, 48 years to date.
He started as a yard boy, moving on to Contracts Manager and the Director of 2 Companies, before starting the family business JCJ Group in 1991. This company is now managed by his son James Caldwell Jnr
Mr Caldwell Snr has held the position as Chairman of the NFDC (Scottish Region), 2nd Vice President NFDC, Training Advisor to NFDC, Chairman of NDTG (Scotland) and member of NDTG Forum.
He is a fully qualified Demolition Topman and member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE). He was voted man of the year in 2001 and is also a member of the Association of Construction Assessors and Verifiers.
Over the past 8 years, Mr Caldwell Snr has concentrated on the training of the Demolition Industry labour force through Circa Consultants, Construction skills, National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) and the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Group (UKATA)
Mr Caldwell sits on various committees in pursuing the raising of standards for the Demolition Industry.

• Represents the Demolition Industry at the National Specialist Centre (NSAC) in Loughborough
Mr Caldwell is linked to this centre as a fully qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier for the Demolition Industry. All of our trainers are fully qualified and experts in their field of Training and have been vetted by Construction Skills.
